New Zealand once again losing in the super over is a bit of a usual phenomenon now. In the 4th t20i against India, New Zealand once again tied the score and lost in the super over. After winning the toss and electing to bowl, they had India at 88/6. But thanks to a talented Manish Pandey and Shardul Thakur, India posted 165 at the end of 20 overs.
Kiwis were leading at 93/1 until they kept losing wickets and eventually tied the score. This is the 4th time they managed to get in this situation in the year, second in 2020. And in all occasions, they have come up short.
In the super over, they scored 13/1 and set India 14 runs to get after Bumrah, their best death bowler was taken to the cleaners, seeing his set standard economy in the death. The kiwis then went with their stand in skipper, Tim Southee, who was replacing Williamson. 14 runs with 6 balls seemed like a good score to defend. But KL Rahul had other ideas. See hit 10 runs single handedly of 2 balls and got the target to 4 runs of 4 balls. Southee then struck back by removing him but the damage was already done. It was easy for Virat Kohli to finish it with 2,4 in the next 2 balls. India now lead the 4 T20I series 4-0. Will NZ recover in the last game or will we see a whitewash for the kiwis once again?
